 Chris King - Trumpet
Bio Resumé

Taking lessons is a great way to improve your skills on the instrument.  It's always a lot easier to get where you want to be musically, if you have the guidance for how to approach your goals.  Sports teams, for instance, have coaches.  Their duty is to make sure the players are in peak condition, before they hit the field, diamond, ice, etc.  In the same way, it's absolutely beneficial to have someone who's able to offer an objective opinion, with professional experience behind it.

Trumpet lessons are a vehicle to achieve personal milestones, like:

-Solo & Ensemble

-All State/All County honor bands

-Learning those jazz tunes you love, and wonder about

-Making band at school more pleasurable to be a part of

...and so on.

There's generally no age limit on somebody who can/should play trumpet.  I've had students as young as 6, and as old as 85.  The common trait that leads to their success is always their will, and motivation to improve (and/or the gentle nudge of their parents, when applicable)

I primarily do in-home lessons within the vicinity of my home in West Orlando, near Ocoee.  I tend to do a lot of traveling in Central Florida, so more central locations such as Winter Park may be an option.

Materials are kept simple and affordable.  Of course, a student must have their own instrument, but books and sheet music are carefully considered for their personal development, and personal budget.  When possible, copies are made for the student.  PDF files of much of what is used in lessons, is also available.

For organization's sake, the student will recieve a folder for their loose sheet music; and weekly progress sheets with what they've accomplished, and should work on for their upcoming lessons.  A blank sheet can be seen HERE.

Lesson rates are:

$20/Half Hour

$40/Full Hour

Monthly payment is preferred, but weekly billing is also accepted.  I issue monthly reciepts, based-on how much was paid for lessons in a given month.  Lessons are tax dedictible as an education expense.

Cash and check are accepted.  For Skype lessons, Paypal is also accepted.

For questions concerning lessons, please call me at (407) 492-3787, and feel free to leave message if I can't make it to the phone.  It's usually loud on stages, in band rooms, and in my kitchen.
